5 Reasons to Stay at Rhino Ridge Safari Lodge

  1. Community & Private Equity Lodge

In keeping with the Isibindi ethos, Rhino Ridge Safari Lodge is a joint venture with the National Empowerment Fund and the local Mphembeni Community who own the land on which the lodge is built. Locals were used in the construction of the lodge and have subsequently been trained to work in various departments within the business constituting 97% of the staff, providing much needed skills and employment in this impoverished rural community.

  1. Drives in Hluhluwe iMfolozi Park

As the lodge is situated within the park one does not have to waste precious time driving to the park before your game viewing begins. Game drives start from the front door of the lodge and have use of the extensive network of roads throughout the park.

  1. Exclusivity

The exclusivity of a thirty six bed lodge, and outstanding service combines beautifully with the full Hluhluwe iMfolozi luxury safari lodge experience.

  1. Additional exciting experiences including the option to walk in Big Five territory or Conservation Areas

For those more adventurous guests who would like to experience the bush on foot – bush walks are offered from the lodge with the legendary Nunu Jobe, a highly experienced trails ranger who also goes by the name of “The Rhino Whisperer”. Having worked in the park for many years Nunu has the reputation of being able to get closer to a white rhino than anyone. Nunu has a wealth of information and it is a real privilege to learn more about life and nature from this unassuming man. Walks are usually conducted in the Big Five area of Hluhluwe iMfolozi Park where children of fourteen years and older may walk but need to be accompanied by a supervising adult. Walks are typically 2-3 hours long and refreshments are provided.

  1. Reasonable rates and bar prices

Nobody wants to count pennies when on holiday, so we have structured our rates to ensure the best of quality without breaking the bank. We keep our bar and curio prices reasonable and stock a variety of award winning South African wines across the price range.
